Hotels in Istanbul
Ok, small disclaimer here, we rarely stay in hotels in Istanbul since we have a house there. So, we're probably not the best people to advise you about hotels. Obviously you have websites like Trip Advisor, Booking.com, and several others who can give you an extensive listing of hotels in the city. However, if you're like us, and you want some impartial advise as to what is a really great place to stay, we can break it down for you a little bit. This section is nowhere near as extensive as the others, but I decided to put a little bit of info in here to help you out. First of all, I usually tell people that their best bet is staying in Taksim as it is quite central and easy to access the Old city and the newer parts of the city (see map). However, I have listed below advice based on what type of trip you are looking for.

If you really want to get the historic Istanbul experience, stay in the old town. You will be within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the famous Hagia Sophia. Hotels I would recommend in this area, based on the experience of friends are:
- Empress Zoe
- Four Seasons Sultan Ahmet
